How we give back
At Anovelo, we have committed to fighting childhood poverty, hunger and poor health! Why should kids miss out on their childhood because they are hungry, homeless and without opportunities for a proper education? This is heartbreaking! In the United States alone, approximately 18% of children are living in poverty – that’s 13 million kids! At Anovelo, we donate 3% of our profits to organizations dedicated to improving the economic, social and health outcomes for this population.
Let’s take a look at the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) as it relates to children:
NO POVERTY
1 of 5 children live in extreme poverty - they are unable to have their most basic needs fulfilled - such as health, education, and access to water and sanitation, among others.
ZERO HUNGER
In 2019, 144 million children under the age of 5 were stunted, and 47 million were affected by wasting.
GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
In 2018, an estimated 6.2 million children and adolescents under the age of 15 years died, mostly from preventable causes.
